The left continues to push their Wuhan Hoax Amnesty agenda. Adam Piggott and I have responded to this individually and together on The Greasy Pole. I now find I have one more element that supports my conclusions on the Wuhan Hoax (WuHoax?) Amnesty.
In case you have forgotten my conclusions, or if you are new here, they are:
1. This is the hill to die on.
2. Never forgive.
3. Never forget.
4. The WuVaxxed are traitors and at some point will turn on you.
Liberals did, in fact, make mistakes during the pandemic. Closing down beaches and other outdoor spaces early in the pandemic was silly and counterproductive. Schools were probably closed for too long. Liberals made mistakes.
But conservatives conveniently overlook the many hare-brained ideas sponsored by those on the right.
Remember hydroxychloroquine? Conservatives proposed it for everyone with COVID-19; some suggested taking it preventatively. In fact, the drug may cause heart-rhythm problems and should be administered only under a physician’s close supervision.
How about ivermectin? Many on the right saw it as a miracle cure; in fact, it was terribly dangerous.

Every leader in the country, and every thoughtful person on social media, should have encouraged folks to get vaccinated and thus save lives.
But nutcases on the right opposed vaccines, because pharmaceutical companies were causing computer chips to be injected along with the vaccines as part of a vast government conspiracy, or various other inanities.
My goodness.
For those on the right to have forgotten so quickly the dangerous — or deadly — misinformation they spread during the pandemic is striking.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — A Fredericksburg restaurant that has repeatedly made headlines for defying Virginia’s COVID mandates during the height of the pandemic and battling to maintain its licenses was subject to a search and seizure by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (ABC) Friday morning.
A search warrant was issued for Gourmeltz’s sales records and any information related to “possession of alcoholic beverages without a license, maintaining a common nuisance and the illegal sale of alcoholic beverages.”
Gourmeltz owner Matt Strickland had his license to sell wine/beer/mixed beverages on and off-premises suspended in September 2021, but ABC put a stay on enforcing the order to give Strickland time to appeal. In November 2022, a final ruling was issued and ABC ordered Gourmeltz to halt selling alcohol for 90 days. The agency said it would reduce the suspension to 15 days if Strickland paid a $4,000 penalty and more than $6,400 in investigation costs.
But Gourmeltz did not comply.

State Sen. Amanda Chase (R-Chesterfield) was also at the restaurant Friday, calling for ABC to dismiss their case and reinstate all licenses.
“Why are we still punishing businesses who chose not to comply with unconstitutional mandates issued by the prior administration?” the politician wrote on Facebook. “This case should be dismissed along with every other business that chose not to follow unconstitutional Covid mandates. Virginia businesses need relief.”
Supporters of Strickland also flooded into his business Friday night. His friend and Virginia State Senate candidate Lance Allen drove two hours from Winchester to eat at his business.
“It’s a hill worth dying on because when it’s your neighbor, your friend, your mom, your dad, and their business, then it’s too late,” Allen said.

And then this morning will getting ready for the podcast I stumbled upon this.
A new California law gives the state unprecedented control over what doctors can say to their patients about COVID-19.
“We’ve got to stop the disinformation pipeline,” an emergency physician supporting California’s AB 2098 told the California Assembly in April.
Stanford economist and medical school professor Jay Bhattacharya, a leading critic of the law, says that it “puts the [Center for Disease Control] in the same room with the doctor and the patient,” violating a basic trust.
Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2098 into law in September, meaning that starting in 2023, doctors who disseminate what the state defines as “misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus” can face disciplinary action by the California Medical Board, including being stripped of their licenses.
“It essentially ends your ability to combat bad ideas put out by public health because you have this looming power that over you that essentially can end your career,” says Bhattacharya.
He was one of several scientists whose work NIH Director Francis Collins said needed a “quick and devastating published takedown” in an email to Anthony Fauci that was obtained through a FOIA request, after Bhattacharya had participated in the Great Barrington Declaration, an October 2020 open letter calling for an immediate end to the lockdowns and use of an alternative COVID-19 mitigation strategy called “focused protection.”
Collins called Bhattacharya—an M.D. and Stanford professor—a “fringe epidemiologist,” along with his co-signers, Harvard’s Dr. Martin Kulldorff, and Oxford University’s Dr. Sunetra Gupta.
AB 2098 defines COVID-19 “misinformation” as medical advice “contradicted by contemporary scientific consensus,” though does not specify how to define such a consensus.
“Regardless of your views on the state of California’s coronavirus response policies or their public health policies, I think any person—left, right, liberal, conservative—who goes to their physician and asks them a question about COVID treatment…wants to actually know what their physician thinks,” says Aaron Kheriaty, a psychiatrist and former professor who taught bioethics at the University of California, Irvine’s medical school. “No one wants a doctor who’s just reading from a script that was written by the California Department of Public Health.”
The WuVaxxers are passing laws to control what doctors are allowed to say. This is what is being called science.

What you ask are the dangerous premises being put forth by these fringe epidemiologists?
Here they are. Brace yourself for rampant conspiracy theory anti-science white nationalism.
Adopting measures to protect the vulnerable should be the central aim of public health responses to COVID-19. By way of example, nursing homes should use staff with acquired immunity and perform frequent testing of other staff and all visitors. Staff rotation should be minimized. Retired people living at home should have groceries and other essentials delivered to their home. When possible, they should meet family members outside rather than inside. A comprehensive and detailed list of measures, including approaches to multi-generational households, can be implemented, and is well within the scope and capability of public health professionals.
Those who are not vulnerable should immediately be allowed to resume life as normal. Simple hygiene measures, such as hand washing and staying home when sick should be practiced by everyone to reduce the herd immunity threshold. Schools and universities should be open for in-person teaching. Extracurricular activities, such as sports, should be resumed. Young low-risk adults should work normally, rather than from home. Restaurants and other businesses should open. Arts, music, sport and other cultural activities should resume. People who are more at risk may participate if they wish, while society as a whole enjoys the protection conferred upon the vulnerable by those who have built up herd immunity.
“Resume life as normal.”
