Meh, a million in the bank is not a huge amount of money today…. it was when my parents were kids, but not now.
One million can be burnt through pretty quick nowadays – that might give you a clue as to why they were raising issues that seemed so trivial aimed at saving small bucks on that wedding… spoon count etc…
