Here is an example of the Alt-Right getting it half right. It’s true not everyone is equal. It’s false that “we” (the Royal We) need a hierarchy to rule over us. The market and natural selection will do the ruling. The need of the Alt-Right to serve a Master is no different than the need of the Conformist-Left to serve a Master.

Most people do not realize that the kid at the back of your history class was right: almost everything in our world is excremental. Most of the music, books, movies, politicians, products and public figures are simply moronic. The herd, which is conscious only of The Now™ and therefore oblivious to options not in front of its face like sale items on a shelf, accepts what is “better” but never stumbles to awareness of what is “good.”

Leftism is perpetually popular. If you tell a group of people that everyone is equal and we do not need a hierarchy to rule over us, the vast majority of them will swoon and fall to delighted excitement. There will be a small group at the rear, old men and teenagers mostly, who realize that not only is the statement not true, but that it is the oldest and vilest lie.

Why is Leftism so addictively popular? The first reason is that it is pacifism. The women especially love this part; when everyone is equal, there is no more inequality, so no more internal competition.

They do not understand basic information dynamics, however, which would inform them that when everyone is equal, the need for competition is intensified as people try to rise over the generic level.

However, that does not explain the seemingly fanatical way that people take to Leftism even when they have never heard of it before. Something clicks in their minds, and they are able to visualize some way in which Leftism is relevant and important to them, and they go from indifferent to maniacally committed fans — who would rather die with the idea than live without it — in minutes.

The final reason why the Right is not out protesting is because they actually work for a living.

Smelly protesters have no trouble getting off a shift making coffee at Starbucks. They can have a sign drawn up in crayon and be on their way downtown before you can say, “I got a new tribal tattoo.” Meanwhile those on the Right are going about their business and attempting to keep the country running for another day.

The first step to legalizing pedophilia. Convince the sheep that small children are responsible and capable of making decisions about their sexuality. If an 8 year old boy can decide he is a girl why can’t he decide to have sex? And if he/she/it can decide to have sex then certainly he/she/it can decide to have sex with a 45 year old adult.

Let me state for the record that I believe this current fixation with allowing and even encouraging children to change their biological sex to be the very worst form of child abuse imaginable.

A child may eventually recover from traditional forms of abuse over their adult life. But medically converting a child’s sex, something that is simply irreversible, will result in terrible trauma for these children later in their lives. I predict that there will be an epidemic of suicides as the consequences of these tragic and evil decisions begin to take effect.

At least children who were murdered such as those killed by the Nazis only had to suffer for a little time. These children will have an entire lifetime of physical and mental torture as a result of their parents diabolical need to virtue signal to the world. There are layers upon layers of evil present here.

Self-Reliance means respecting our own experiences, ideas, and traits.

The best of those things.

It’s not an excuse to be lazy, immoral, confrontational, distant, or an asshole in general.

It’s not an excuse to mock the ideals of others, be narcissistic, or hurt others in any way.

Sartre recognized that “Man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is responsible for everything he does.”

Notice the word “condemned” — the freedom self-reliance offers isn’t fatalistic or nihilistic. It means taking on more responsibility, just a higher grade responsibility than we’re usually saddled with.

Self-reliance is a call to be true to yourself in the most important way possible.

To try and use it as a way to justify the worst parts of yourself is a terrible mistake.

Self-reliance is often symbolized by the hermit who lives alone and doesn’t need or associate with other people. And certainly, as we’ll see, solitude is an essential aspect of self-reliance. But the solitude we need is more nuanced than that.

The trick isn’t to always be alone or always be surrounded by people. The trick is doing what’s right for you at the moment. Introverts will need more solitude than extroverts, and extroverts more social situations. But both need both.

If we’re too embedded in the cacophony of civilization, the sound of our own thoughts will be drowned out.

But if we’re too removed from society it becomes difficult to know what we know. The understanding we gain in solitude remains impotent unless it’s exposed/tested/run up against society in some way. Nietzsche noticed this in his own ideas: “…all truths that are kept silent become poisonous.”

In the German philosopher’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra, the titular character would rotate between a hermit-like life and a teaching type of life where he brought his messages to society. Nietzsche himself followed this pattern throughout his life.

We see this in Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey as well. Every hero must go out to adventure, usually beginning the quest alone. But the journey wasn’t over ‘til he returned to share the elixir (usually some special knowledge) with society.

All the above caveats aside, solitude is foundational for self-reliance. If we can’t be alone, we can’t be self-reliant.

Nietzsche describes a danger of this inability in Thus Spoke Zarathustra: “The lonely one offers his hand too quickly to whomever he encounters.” If we’re afraid to be alone, we’ll accept the company of just about anybody.

If we spend our time alone itching to be in the company of others, how can we discover what we truly think? If we’re forever embedded in the “madding crowd” it can be difficult to parse our inherited, default desires from the things that we truly want to want.

This is correct. Sigmas are not some sort of Vulcan or anything. I definitely have emotions, and they are certainly aroused in situations like the one described yesterday. But they are seldom the emotions that Gammas or others tend to assume they are. I have very little interest in what most people think, in part because I can very often anticipate how they will react to a given situation on the basis of their identity, intelligence, and socio-sexual rank.

I felt precisely one emotion when several people started criticizing the cover of the new Wright novel, offering unrequested advice, and suggesting unnecessary debate: annoyance. However, that’s as far as it went.
