Cyber-statists desire the singularity because once all humans have their consciousness uploaded into computers there will non longer be any opinions which deviate from the opinions approved of by the state. Everyone will finally be “equal”.

Except for the slaves who will not be part of the singularity and will retain physical bodies to maintain the computers which house the consciousness of the elites.

That’s my idea of merging into a singularity.
