From a CSU campus perspective, (((Emma Green))), a career education coordinator at the CSU Career Center, said she assumes employers may not be responding to applicants because students send in generic applications.

“Many students don’t realize that they should be editing or tailoring each resume and/or cover letter for every single individual posting,” Green said.

Of course they don’t know this. The zoomers just spent 12 years in public education learning no useful skills at all. They have no knowledge. No experience. No skill set.

But more important. Who or what is Emma Green? What the fuck kind of made up job is a “career education coordinator.” Get ready to laugh.

“When I’m meeting with students and they’re talking about wanting on-campus jobs, a lot of times, they are unaware of how to find them,” Green said.

The jobs are right there. Zoomers can’t find them.

The undergraduate student population at CSU was 26,168 during the 2023-24 school year, whereas the 2021-22 school year saw 25,362 students.

You dump 26,000 18 to 24 year old kids into a city where they are competing for the same jobs that require no experience or skills and you wonder why some of them can’t find a job.

“I would have gotten the job if I didn’t need a couple of Saturdays off,” Lifka said. “It was kind of upsetting to know that I’m not getting this job just because of the next three or four weeks.”

The job is not there for you. You are there for the job. If you can’t be there the job will go to someone who can be there.

“My previous roommate who moved out at the end of last semester — they had a lot of struggles finding a job as well,” White said. “They ended up getting to the point where they were so short on money that they started having to donate their plasma.”

White lived with this person and still didn’t know if it was a boy or girl.

Next up is an attempt at journalism by Jenna Landry.

Landry was born and raised most of her life in North Dakota, the fly-over state of everyone’s dream, where she spent most of her time trying to get out of North Dakota. Landry emphasizes the three years she lived in Guam where she gained a lot of new perspectives and traveled the most — something she hopes to do again soon.

Landry is fascinated by politics and was drawn to journalism by its crucial role in helping democracy function and the vital role of the press.

Skateboarding, or, as she calls it, “falling down for fun,” is Landry’s chosen hobby. Landry also enjoys hiking, music, reading and dad jokes. Landry spends most of her free time with friends, her two daughters and her small collection of cats (Plato, Penny and Sage). As arts and culture director, Landry hopes to create an inclusive space for anyone who would like to share their voice.
