GRUB version 1 has been improved to GRUB version 2. How improved you ask? I’ll tell you.

Changing the default boot time in GRUB 1:

nano /boot/grub/grub.conf
arrow down to timeout=30
change 30 to 60
ctrl+x
y
enter
reboot and done

That was not good enough according to the virgins who write GRUB.  Thus they improved the process.

Changing the default boot time in GRUB 2:

edit /etc/default/grub
run grub-updater
reboot
discover that the option for booting Winblows is gone
search internet for 20 minutes
find out this is a bug which is over a year old and hasn’t been fixed yet
search internet for another 20 minutes looking for solution
manually mount the windows partition
run os-probe
run grub-updater
reboot and now it’s working.

Firefox upgrade turns off all my plugins because they had to rewrite their code. Which is an admission they code they had for all them years was not well written.
