Forney, like Roosh in his post about limiting personal freedom (https://www.cynlibsoc.com/2015/06/stating-the-obvious-0232-a-discussion-about-people-should-not-be-allowed-unlimited-freedom-by-rooshv-part-1/), identifies real problems and almost reaches the correct conclusion. However his statism prevents him from getting there. Forney falls back on the typical statist hatred of the individual and love for “society” which in Forney’s estimation is not made up of individuals.

Rather like saying a forest isn’t made up of trees.

Important lesson from this podcast: When evaluating an ideology, system, religion, world view, so forth you must ask yourself is is grounded in first principles or is it a result of an emotional reaction.

Examples of first principle world views:

Anarcho-capitalism: Don’t initiate violence, don’t accept violence, don’t take other people’s stuff.

Capitalism: I have stuff. You have stuff. We can trade or combine our stuff with other people to create greater value and more useful stuff.

Examples of emotional reaction world views:

Feminism: I’m fat and have facial hair. The patriarchy must be oppressing me. I hate men.

Virgins Going Their Own Way: I can’t talk to girls and have never been on a date. All girls are yucky. I hate girls.

Statism: I’m too stupid to keep myself alive therefore I’ll rely on powerful rich people to provide everything I need to stay alive by stealing from others. I hate everyone.
